Abstract

In recent years, Popular Education as a political, ethical and pedagogical proposal has been placed among debates that question the continuity and validity of its theoretical postulates and its practices. An element that has influenced this questioning has to do with the announcement of the end of utopias, turned into a flag with the fall of socialisms, and more recently endorsed by the failures or contradictions of leftist governments that have taken place in various countries from Latin America. Another element is related to a kind of invisibility of the sense of the "popular" that has been forged hand in hand with a trivialization or ignorance of its meaning and the institutionalization of innovative pedagogical proposals introduced in the curricula with little critical sense.
